Mardi Gras

When you think of New Orleans a few themes come to mind, Mardi Gras undoubtedly the most common. In a city filled with chaos and corruption it is interesting to see the way people look at Mardi Gras. Black, white, rich, poor, Mardi Gras unites the city of New Orleans in a way that is hard to comprehend. Outside of New Orleans this also holds true. The annual celebration of Mardi Gras gives the city a sense of unique identity, highlighting the catholic french influence. Also, Mardi Gras bring in a lot of money. Almost everyone I know will be here come February 16, the city will be filled to the brim with people from all over the world. The celebration is very expnsive for the city, but I think that they make up for it.
